When people think Icelandic music, names like Of Monsters and Men and Sigur Rós usually come up first. Plus, another one of course that ** cough cough ** can't be mentioned here. But there's another cult favorite from Reykjavik's wonderfully weird music scene: Múm.
If you've never heard them before, imagine soft vocals floating over tiny electronic clicks, toy instruments, warped samples, and melodies that feel fragile in the best possible way. It's delicate, playful, a little mysterious, and very, very Iceland.
They've been doing this since 1998, quietly building a global cult following, and this tour also introduces their new album History of Silence. Eight fresh tracks full of the layered, hypnotic textures they're known for.
Also: this is the final stop of the entire China tour, which means it's the last chance to catch them before they disappear back into the Icelandic mist.
If you're into the more experimental side of electronic, ambient, or indie music, this one's worth grabbing tickets for before they vanish.
