Lu Feiyan & Wang Yi - also known as Florian and Enuat of the evocative indie rockers Shanghai Qiutian continue their monthly Yuyintang Park residency that’s unlike anything else. Two earnest musicians who want to share their love of music with audiences. Like a variety show except if run by the band instead of the host - with some killer music in between some light-hearted banter. I think they even had a conch on stage which I’m all for. Joining the pair tonight will be members of instrumental rock heavyweights An Corporation.

Gobble gobble motherfxxker! Give your thanks this year by indulging in musical shenanigans at C’s Bar guilt-free with proceeds for the evening going to charity for a school in Cambodia! Heavy riffs, head-banging to your heart’s content - all for a good cause. On the bill you’ve got heavy metal favorites Chimera Cult, joining cybercore renegades Soulitude, and hardcore ruffians HEADIVE - before the TicToK DJ crew keeps the party going - spinning deep house, dark techno and metal remixes throughout the night. Free entrance (charity raffles at the door for those looking for karma points).

Shanghai maverick electronic producer power couple Gooooose and 33EMYBW hit up experimental music safe haven trigger this Saturday afternoon. The shape-shifting producers have worn many hats in their acclaimed careers - with 33's experimental dance music being described as 'arthropodal' and Gooooose’s impeccable sound design fusing breakbeat, high-wire IDM, atmospheric electro jazz, and then some. The pair have even collaborated together - tapping into their cinematic and ambient sensibilities - so it’s anyone’s guess what’s in store this afternoon. Color us intrigued.

Nanjing indie rock outfit Schoolgirl byebye, led by steadfast couple Yang Yue (on vocals and guitar) and Geng Shengzai (on drums), continue to find solace and company in the trivial trials and routines of daily life, finding maturity and lyrical resonance whilst twisting the band’s pulpy indie pop into something grounded, wistful, and romantic. The band’s latest release - dives deeper into the lo-fi R&B vibes as well as laying into its psych-pop sensibilities - tapping into the romantic afterglow of a summer holiday with aptness.

Beijing-based Los Crasher seems to have emerged from another era – more specifically the late 70s and early 80s when glam metal, and old school hard rock were at the height of their power. It’s surreal, sleazy, and pretty friggin rad when all is said and done. The band, who have been stomping around Beijing for almost two decades will be giving a special unplugged performance tonight at Specters - a venue that should fit the rustic rock and rollers quite nicely.
