What is it?Duo Yun Xuan Art Museum is hosting Wonder Dolls 2026, a doll art biennale organized by Wonder Market. If your idea of doll collecting is still mostly BJD enthusiasts swapping photos online, this exhibition might change your mind.
Featuring 108 artists and creative teams from China and overseas, the show brings together 500+ works across handmade dolls, BJD, textile art, ceramics, wooden sculpture, mechanical pieces and miniature installations. These aren't just cute collectibles. Many feel closer to small-scale sculptures, each with its own character and strange little universe.
Spread across two floors, the exhibition mixes large installations, theatrical props, retro scenes and detailed handmade dolls, including antique-style works from Russian artists and pieces inspired by Chinese mythology. You don't need to know the doll scene to enjoy it. The fun is in discovering the tiny details, like handmade costumes or miniature worlds hidden inside the displays.
Who is it for?Doll collectors will obviously have plenty to explore, but Wonder Dolls isn't only for people already deep in the hobby. It's really a show about craftsmanship, storytelling, and the things humans create for the simple joy of making something beautiful (or weird).

How to buy tickets?Wonder Dolls 2026 runs from June 27 to August 30 at Duo Yun Xuan Art Museum (closed Mondays).Tickets are 88rmb on weekdays and 100rmb on weekends/holidays. Weekdays are better if you want a quieter look. Weekends are the time to go if you want to catch the maker market and meet creators.
