March 8 marks International Women's Day, a global moment that has existed for over a century, recognizing the ongoing pursuit of women's rights and equality. Across Shanghai, organizations and venues are hosting events to celebrate, reflect, and bring people together. Raise a hand. Stand together.

The European Chamber marks International Women’s Day with Give to Gain: Supporting Women Through Change, Growth and Transition, a practical discussion on how to better support women in today’s shifting workplace. Taking place on March 5 from 2pm to 4pm at the European Chamber Shanghai Office, the afternoon looks at real-world ways organisations and individuals can foster psychological wellbeing, mentoring, peer networks, leadership visibility, and inclusive management. The program includes a keynote, an open conversation with speakers from the Netherlands Consulate-General, Wurth Group, INPOWER ONE, and the European Chamber, plus an interactive dialogue session encouraging participants to share experiences. Celebrate Women’s Day in style at the Goods & Goods Market, an exciting pop-up event curated by HAI550 in collaboration with the Huangpu District Women’s Federation. This four-day market is all about amplifying women’s voices, desires, and presence. Explore a vibrant lineup of stalls on the 1st and 8th floors, dive into empowering conversations at the women’s salon on the 7th floor, or get hands-on with a variety of workshops. Whether you're browsing, engaging, or creating, this event is a celebration of women in all their forms.

Several international chambers, including the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China and the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, are teaming up for an InterChamber International Women’s Day Celebration Mixer on March 5, 2026. Held from 6:30pm to 9pm at the Aquarius Room on the 54th floor of the Grand Hyatt Shanghai in Jin Mao Tower, the evening brings together professionals from across Shanghai’s international business community to mark the occasion and connect across industries. Expect a standing buffet dinner and three drinks (house wine, beer, or soft drinks) included with the ticket. Entry is 230 RMB for members and 330 RMB for non-members.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai hosts a Beauty and Wellness Fair on March 6 from 1pm to 6pm at The Conference Room. Framed around Women’s Day, the afternoon brings together a curated mix of skincare, natural wellness products, lifestyle brands, and nourishing food, creating a relaxed space to browse, chat, and pick up something new. The program also includes two workshops: “Women’s Health Abroad: Thriving While Living Between Worlds” led by Victoria King, General Practitioner at Parkway Shanghai Hospital, and a Pilates session on spinal health and energy flow with Sharon Wu, founder of I Movement Studio. Open to all, it’s a low-key way to spend a Friday afternoon focusing on self-care and connection.

On March 7, join women leaders and lifelong learners for a thought-provoking session on designing a career and life without limits in today’s uncertain world. We’ll explore how to reposition your personal value, shift from “executor” to “creator,” and build long-term competitiveness amid AI and global change. Celebrate Women’s Day at La Barra on March 8 with a full brunch experience featuring dishes like Eggs Benedict, signature Bacon Bloody Marys, and Prosecco freeflow for two hours. From 12 to 6pm, the brunch menu sets the tone, while from 2pm onward, an all-female DJ lineup spins funky house, disco, and nu-disco to keep the vibe lively. Guest bartenders Ace and Abby take over the bar, serving creative cocktails as the afternoon flows into evening—making it a good way to gather, toast, and celebrate.

Her in Motion: The Power of Becoming brings together female athletes, entrepreneurs, and community leaders in Shanghai for International Women’s Day 2026.
