Your bi-weekly dose of feel good community events happening around town.
This weekend, the annual Rainbow Bike Ride will get us ready for ShanghaiPRIDE and the Commune Market is definitely maybe set for this weekend in the compound where Colca is. Also, something for comic nerds, tech-y networking, and more.

Tomorrow night, Shaving In The Dark is straying from Drink and Draws with a Comics Nerd Nite. Bring comics, talk about comics, and swap comics (if you want, no pressure). Also if you’re a comics artist or writer looking for a collaborator, now's your time. Starts at 7pm. Free entry. AnyHelper is kind of like The Shanghai Call Center, but run on college campuses. They're having a launch party (moving from just WeChat to the web, anyhelper.cn) where you can network and meet company reps and student leaders from Shanghai's top universities. Costs 75rmb to get in, includes food and one drink. The annual Rainbow Bike Ride returns as the warm up to this year's ShanghaiPRIDE (June 8 to 18) and marks International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT). On the day, six teams of cyclists will represent the six colors of the Rainbow Flag, starting out from every corner of Shanghai to meet at Riink. Costs 120rmb includes 1 t-shirt, 1 goody bag, and snacks. Register here. It's for sure on this weekend. Per usual expect a mix of local designers, art, and crafty buys; plus drinks and food from Eduardo Vargas of COLCA, Arnaud from Au Beurre Salé, Pascal from Styx, the Moody Tongue boys, GARLIC, and more. All weekend from 11am to 6pm. Free entry. All weekend from 11am to 4pm, Best Friends China is hosting their semi-regular adoption day at Kerry Parkside. Turn up to adopt, hang out with animals, or to learn how you can become a BFC volunteer. Free entry. * Also: If you missed it, it's International Meghan Markle Day on Saturday and the new Xinfab is having an opening party this Saturday if royal weddings aren't your thing.
