When Pain Isn’t Just Physical: A Shanghai Case

A Shanghai-based coach is tackling chronic pain from a different angle, by training the brain, not just the body.

Content provided by Lily at BC360 (Lifit & Wellness).

Between 2023 and 2024, I served as a distinguished expert at Shenzhen Vista Medical Clinic, the largest international medical clinic in Shenzhen. During my practice, I regularly saw clients with musculoskeletal pain and even unexplained discomfort.

Before coming to me, most had already consulted top specialists and traveled worldwide seeking solutions from doctors, physical therapists, and rehabilitation professionals. While I successfully resolved many cases, some conditions showed little improvement, or relief was only temporary with quick relapses.

I noticed these "difficult" clients shared one thing in common: insufficient brain function and emotional disorders, which directly contributed to their pain: a gap in my expertise at the time.

Driven to find root-cure answers, I left my established career in Shenzhen and moved to Shanghai in July 2024 to become one of the first brain optimization coaches at BC360 (Lifit & Wellness).

At BC360, I completed intensive evidence-based neuroscience training and received systematic guidance from two world-leading experts: David Miao (sports rehabilitation) and Dr. Andy Hsu (neuroscientist, Oxford University research fellow). I now work on the frontline, integrating sports rehabilitation with neuroscience to help clients with complex conditions from across China and globally.

After nearly two years, I now confidently solve the same tough cases I once struggled with in Shenzhen.

My 21 months in Shanghai also brought a personal milestone: my first bodybuilding championship. This journey confirmed my belief that movement is the best medicine . Injuries from past flawed training can be corrected with proper strength training, you recover where you fell.

Now approaching 50, I'm in better physical shape and energy than in my 30s and 40s.

A sedentary lifestyle causes most modern sub-health issues: neck and shoulder pain, back and knee strain, breathing difficulty, postural problems, urinary incontinence under stress, hemorrhoids, and sexual dysfunction. These stem from weak and over-tensed muscles, lost basic physical function, autonomic nervous imbalance, and a threatened brain state, all rooted in brain function.

In this context, massage or passive relaxation only provides short-term relief and often worsens the core issue.

Most of my clients seek help not only for physical pain and posture correction but also for poor focus, memory loss, mood issues, and sleep disorders. I effectively support them through neuroscience‑integrated sports rehabilitation .

Posture correction especially needs neuroscience, because posture is controlled by the brain. (For example, a client with a 38‑degree spinal curvature saw dramatic improvements in just 8 hours - 75% of the work was brain training.)

Based in a low-key street in Xuhui District, BC360 welcomes clients from all over China and the world who have exhausted other options.

We quietly help people rebuild physical, emotional, and mental health every day.

I hope to reach more people soon, sharing our neuroscience‑powered rehabilitation method to improve health and quality of life for all.
