In solemn and dutiful celebration of the opening man-spa JSquared's lovely new K11 venue, SmartShanghai did the only thing that any sort of decency would call for: we went down and got one of their magical, miraculous, rejuvenating hydrafacial treatments to moisten, de-wrinkle, and revitalize this damn shattered visage.

Let's take a step back and introduce JSquared in case you're new. The beloved, LGBTQI-friendly JSquared spa chain is the only spa service in Shanghai that provides beauty services for men only, with customized, one-on-one sessions and professional consulting. They've got locations in Jing'anTemple, Xintiandi, Nanjing Xi Lu, Xujiahui, Lujiazui and this, that just opened on B1 of K11 Art Mall.
Their services include hair removal, skincare, fat loss, muscle building, and scalp care. They have all male therapists to avoid embarrassment, with all disposable operation supplies to guarantee sanitation and no hidden consumption to dispel concerns. The company adopts European and American products for customers, including the German semiconductor 808 laser hair removal instrument, American Alura's body and health care technology, American top luxury skincare brand Hydrafacial and French marine skincare brand Thalgo. The company is very friendly to LGBT and other diverse groups.
SmSh previously visited to try out their healthcare treatments. They've got that body-sculpting machine that stimulates like 10,000 sit-ups—and they can use it everywhere. We also got our nails done in a fabulous shade of old Hollywood moss green. Slay.
We're happy to report that the new location is very much on brand. It's small, low-key, serene, intimate, and relaxing, and the staff is super welcoming, whispering with keen insight the ways in which you can eradicate ugliness from your person.
We did their Syndeo + Thalgo combo hydrafacial, which is a medical-grade, non-invasive hydradermabrasion therapy with a three-part regimen—cleansing, exfoliating, and then infusing skin with intensive serums. Basically, using suction cups, the therapist drains the lymphatics with pumping movements on the face —detoxifying and relaxing—thus allowing activation of microcirculation and better absorption of active ingredients.
JSquared uses a wide range of seaweed and plant-based booster ingredients to target specific skin conditions—anti-aging, blemishes and acne, antioxidant, and moisturizing. We just did the moisturizing option because this modern life has left us a dry husk indeed.
A one-time, 60-minute visit is 1080rmb, but there are significant reductions in price for package deals for six and 12 times if you're looking for a more in depth treatment program or to make it a regular course of action.
