News from the steak world: Roosevelt Prime Steakhouse will be closing this week. The rarefied, expensive bastion of 1,100rmb bone-in rib-eyes and cigar-chomping customers will be packing up its things and leaving the InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin Hotel on Sunday, January 27 for unspecified reasons. They hope — don't we all — to find another place and re-open by April. Read the full statement after the jump.

From founder George Chen, earlier this week: "Dear Friends of Roosevelt Prime Steakhouse — our 13 year run has come to a sad suspension as our pop-up at Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel has not worked out as planned. We are looking forward to another location and re-open hopefully in April 2019 to keep the brand alive and continue to serve the finest steaks in Shanghai. Our last day at Ruijin IHG is 1/27 so please come by and bid farewell for now until the next chapter. I (we) want to thank you all for ALL your incredible support in the the last 13 YEARS!" If that's enough to get you to eat a steak, see the steakhouse's details right here.
