Despite rumors of an end-of-month closure, Sasha's staff have confirmed that they will, in fact, be closing this Saturday, after 21 years in business. The venerable Dongping Lu institution, a favorite of families and aficionados of sitting outdoors, opened roughly twenty minutes after life crawled out of the oceans (September 1997), taking over what used to be the home of one T.V. Soong. Zapata's will remain open until the rest of the Dongping Lu shutdown concludes by the end of this year. Word is the land is being reclaimed by the academic institute that owns it, but others suggest it's because the government wants to preserve the building as a cultural relic.
