Luneurs, the really excellent patisserie and ice cream that emerged from the ashes of the Farine empire, is not even a year old, but the lines are long and the location was right, so... they are expanding. And not just once, but twice. The second Luneurs opens this weekend on Huashan Lu, in a karmically correct space (also once part of the Farine empire) at number 888, right around the corner from Wukang Lu. They will have the same lineup of pastries (that vertical number, half-dipped in chocolate, and full of salted caramel, is one tried-and-tested suggestion) and ice creams, made by the team from WIYF, a now-shuttered (Farine) window on Wukang Lu that drew mass queues. And then! Coming later in the summer, Luneurs will try out the mall, opening location #3 on the upper floors of IAPM. It's a heartwarming story, for Son Quach and his team, patisserie over adversity and all that, and most importantly, it's delicious. Go down and have a scoop on your weekend rounds.
