WULI, the casual Korean spot that delivers K-town level quality without the trek to Gubei, is rebooting itself with a new silbijib concept. It literally means "cost-price house" in Korean, but in practice it's not about cheap eats -- it's about getting a lot of well-made, home-style food for a fixed price, with the booze carrying the bill.
WULI's version: order drinks, and for 299rmb the kitchen sends out waves of ajumma-style dishes with no menu and no debate -- eat until you're stuffed. Since he comes from a fine-dining background, Chef Tom's spin adds some sharper technique and Shanghai polish.
From their socials, expect beef tartare folded with pear, knife-cut bossam with jangajji pickles, Busan-style fish-cake skewers, gim-butter rice sheets, kimchi jeon, and a soufflé-soft gyeran-jjim, alongside banchan like perilla greens, sesame veg, marinated squid, and rolled omelette.
Soft opening starts today; booking ahead is recommended. 150rmb lunch; 299rmb dinner.
