Snag your restaurant table now.

If you're someone who self-reflexively uses the word "foodie" and also likes to give money to philanthropic causes (feel there's a pretty huge overlap between the two), this one's for you: ChiFan for Charity has opened up the books, and is officially taking reservations. ChiFan for Charity is a one-night event where you, well chi fan, that is, eat, for a good cause. Basically, on the night of April 17, you reserve a table for yourself and friends at a participating restaurant and dine on a multi-course meal paired with drinks for 500 to 800rmb, depending on the restaurant you choose. The food is all donated by the restaurant, and 100% of the proceeds go to a charity. Each restaurant provides one table, and usually seats are going fast. All of the table proceeds go to a designated charities, this year it's Pickup China, one of China's first environmental protection NPOs shining a light on the growing issue of dis-managed waste and working drive awareness and action to reduce it's contribution to environmental pollution. Participating restaurants so far include YongFoo Elite, Tomatito, The Kitchen Table at W Shanghai, Bor Eatery, SOIF, Ginger, Umaami, Henkes .. with more being added to the list.
