This annual bass music holiday jam features a local lineup of DJ talent, led by DJ Siesta, sling big, bad tunes in UK Garage, Bassline House, UKF, and Drum & Bass genres. Spend the holidays dancing in a tight club with your backpack on. Aight. 

Forte hosts a manic Christmas party with house music on the system from Dmitry Karmieli and Paul Dean.  This one's a late night dinner affair that spill into a dance party with drinks, food and music piled high. Goes down on December 24 from 10pm til late. Doors open at 9pm, Kitchen works till 2am. Pre-sale tickets are 100rmb including 1 drink; 120rmb flat at the door. Funky, funky, funky Christmas eve at Shake. Singers Sookie and Wink and the whole band present a night of funk and soul heat and some Christmas classics in a funked up style. For dinner, Shake’s much-loved holiday platters by Chef Danyi Gao will be available in two sizes. Dinner from 6.30pm; live music from 9:30pm. 150rmb entry. RSVP recommended. This one will fill up. 

Lounge by Topgolf presents a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner buffet from 6.30pm to 10.30pm at 388rmb.  Christmas classics on the menu, and then that turns into a party when you upgrade to free-flow drinks with extra 198rmb. On Christmas Day, they have brunch buffet from 11.30am to 3pm for 198rmb, with extra 128rmb you'll get free-flow drinks. Christmas and a little minigolf? Not a bad idea. 

No one does Christmas like Bar Red. Bar Rouge, in collaboration with Julia's Events and Moet et Chandon Champagne, is hosting a formal and fancy Christmas affair on December 24. On Christmas Eve they are putting on a "glamorous ball on their iconic bund terrace overlooking the magnificent Huangpu river with the a Pudong skyline view". Sounds about right. You know the drill. Expect some giveaways and prizes if you're lucky. 

La Suite is lamenting the lack of snow and throwing a "white party" themed Christmas event to make up for it.  Don your finest white... finery and turn up for live entertainment, performances, and Christmas cheer.  This one's going for two nights on December 24 and December 25 from 10pm. 

VR sport bar (and then some) is hosting a futuristic Chrismas shaker with a few of the traditional trappings.  Their "Immersive Party" featurings a Secret Santa gift exchange, a special Christmas dance, face painting, interactive drumming, and more Christmas surprises. Ticket includes 1 welcome drink. Good one for families. 

DEFINITELY NOT good for families.  But wonderful and essential for everyone else. As part of their four-year anniversary celebrations, good times rock and roll dive bar Specters hosts the grimiest drag show in town. “Choker” returns to the “stage” at Specters for a Christmas send-up! Baverhausen and Lady ’n’ Gentleman host in a cavalcade of Shanghai drag kings and queens bringing that extra spicy-spicy-spicy for the holiday season.  Because Jesus only turns 2021 once…  100rmb at the door.
