is a new shop specializing in retail items for men only - swim gear, gym shorts, underwear, singlets, y-briefs, g-strings etc, aimed at buff city-living boys (not surprisingly probably the first of its kind in the country). Singaporean Kenneth is co-founder of the shop "geared for the urban metrosexual male", which is actually inside Shanghai Studio but separately managed, sharing ex-bomb shelter space with a little bit of everything... video art from a Swiss artist, and a bar paired with an alarming labyrinth of dark (and slightly smelly) rooms of all shapes and sizes (at least 12). The bar is open from 9pm onwards, with drinks around 40rmb, so nothing special, but worthwhile if you feel a drink is in order post-shopping in a 10mx10m store. I haven't yet been to Beijing, but if I was gassed and kidnapped and woke to have to work out where I was, Beijing would be my best estimate - it has definite personality. One of the more interesting items for sale is the giggle-worthy "Sling Support". If you're not curious you should be - it's basically a bra for the penis, created to support even the slummish of soft spots, and apparently very popular in the states. The additional little elastic circle is attached to pairs of jocks, and can be adjusted to fit, er, comfortably on anyone, even if it "does take some getting used to".
