It’s just a few days until Christmas. Have you made plans? If you’re not already going to a cookie-swap at someone’s house or made a restaurant reservation, we have a few (a million) ideas here, on our Christmas page. Nearly 50, actually, from traditional poultry to Cantonese luxe. Let’s run through a few options!


On the Bund, Robuchon is doing a four-courser of heart bombs like chestnut soup with bacon cream and a homemade duck foie gras dish, meant to share, for 1,188rmb for two people; Hakkasan does BOGO Champagne on the 25th; and el Willy has Spanish Christmas in five courses from 588rmb per person. At the hotels, Café Gray Deluxe is doing classics like Beef Wellington for 688-888rmb, while Sui Tang Li does classic Canto luxury (fish maw, black-pepper beef) for 980rmb per person; the Hyatt on the Bund has specials in every outlet; The Four Seasons has a decent deal at its steakhouse of 538rmb per person including two hours of free-flow wines In the downtown fine dining options, seul&SEUL has a fancy seafood menu (amberjack, king crab, Boston lobster) for 788-888rmb per person, depending on the date; and Michael Wilson at Phenix will be doing a 918rmb dinner menu. On the more casual side of things, Boxing Cat has a deep-fried turkey plate (158rmb) as the anchor of its Christmas menu; bird roasters Heat do a 388rmb set for two, including an eight-treasure stuffed chicken; the Blind Pig makes a f’n Turducken as part of their 458rmb buffet; Tomatito does nine courses, count ‘em, for 288rmb and deals on bubbles; and The Cannery has a prime rib set for 888rmb per couple.
