'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' China Release Date Confirmed
By Dec 5, 2017 Arts
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the latest and the longest entry in the Star Wars franchise (150 minutes run-time) is coming to China's cinemas on January 5, it has been announced. A movie premier is also slated to be taking place on December 20 at Shanghai Disney Resort. They haven't announced which celebrities are going to attending yet but y'know. Snoke probably.

You've probably already seen the trailer, but here's the Chinese market poster if you haven't seen it yet. Notice it has Rey at the center of both the light and dark side instead of Luke, and Luke looks significantly less menacing now, with a badly shopped Kylo Ren by his side. Wonder what that implies.

Upcoming movies that are good to watch over the Christmas with your families: Britain's beloved family adventure Paddington 2 and world's first fully painted feature film Loving Vincent both hits local cinemas on December 8; French comedy and fantasy film Santa & Cie will be playing on December 15. The first two have already started pre-sales, if you don't know how to book your seats on the cheap, make sure to check our guide.

China's film board thumped Disney yet again. All done to screw with their global box office tallies. By the time of the film's release the plot will be ruined just like it was with the Force Awakens.
