Today in Pizza: Nat Alexander's Opening a Pizza Place
By Nov 11, 2016 Dining

Breaking pizza news. Stop the pizza presses. Long-time Shanghai restaurateur Nat Alexander, formerly of the much missed Fulton Place and currently of the well-received Yang Jing Bang pop-ups around town, is opening a pizza place in the Da Tong Mill. It's going to be called "Homeslice" and he's going for simplicity. The statement from the man after the jump.

***

Nat Alexander: "There’s no complicated concept here - New York-style pizza, sold by the slice or the pie. A few beers and wines, alongside some cocktails with an Italian accent. Food everyone loves, done right. The team behind Homeslice Pizza is Nat Alexander (former owner of Fulton Place, and creator of Yang Jing Bang) and Ken Shi (the man who keeps the back offices of many of Shanghai’s favourite restaurants and bars running smoothly). Design is by Scott Lau (designer of Fulton Place, Grumpy Pig and Yang Jing Bang). Besides this, Yang Jing Bang is also guesting at Baoism's first birthday next Wednesday and I'll be doing another of my own Yang Jing Bang events in the first couple of weeks of December!"

There you have it. Neat. Baosim one-year anniversary. Yang Jing Bang pop-up in the first couple weeks in December. And pizza in Da Tong Mill. Homeslice is looking at a January 2017 opening date. Looks like places are moving in to Da Tong Mill, eh. Might have to go back and check it out.

Maybe my cocktail order at the JZ Club will be ready by now. (Sssss! Burn!)
