Americans: Last Chance To Vote And (Possibly) Make A Difference

By Sep 27, 2016 Community
Hey Americans, the first presidential debate between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump just ended. If you haven't registered to vote / requested an absentee ballot / submitted your ballot, you still have a chance to do so -- although that window is closing soon. For detailed instructions, head over to VoteFromAbroad.org. Deadlines and processes are different depending on the state. California for example lets you register to vote online by October 24, but New York requires it by October 14 and they don't have an online option.

If all else fails (e.g., you don't get your ballot mailed to you in time), you can do a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot, but specific rules for that depend on the state as well.

So yeah, get out there and exercise your rights. Or if you're in that camp of "the American democratic system is a fruitless sham", well you just keep doing you.

You can also go to FVAP.gov to register absentee and do the FWAB form directly. Voters may also need to fill out the FPCA form.
