Split Works' sixth annual JUE Festival kicked off on Wednesday and keeps on truckin' until the end of the month. It's not the kind of festival where bros wild out to EDM in the summer heat - it's more like hundreds of art and music events around Shanghai and Beijing gathered together under the JUE umbrella.

JUE events tonight include the party at Arkham with Brooklyn's Pictureplane playing live with the Love Bang crew, as well as post-rock and industrial music from Hangzhou bands down at On Stage. Nice sound system over there.

During the day on Saturday, JUE offers up a silent film double feature and vintage market over at The Pearl, hosted by Kick The Gong Around, then an evening show with power pop originator Paul Collins playing at Yuyintang. Not content with one just one rock show, they've got Wuhan band Hualun playing over at On Stage the same night.

Lots more coming up over the next few weeks from JUE, we'll keep you updated. If you want the full schedule right now, head over to their website.
