Easter. Yeah. Much in the same way that news weeklies are dusting off their annual "Who Really Was Jesus?" features this week, we're dusting off our annual "Who is Serving Food For Easter" feature. Service journalism at it's finest. Without any further ado, Easter Eats.
Buffets

Lots of buffet action going on, especially at the high-end hotels. Grand Brasserie in the Waldorf should be good for a splurge. Take their normal formula of aperitifs in the Long Bar from 11 to noon and then an endless bubbly brunch from noon to 3pm. Add an Easter egg hunt for the kids. 928rmb for adults. 428rmb for kids. Deets here. The InterCon Expo is a solid kid-friendly option, too. They've got lots of open outdoor spaces where your rugrats can burn off all the sugar they're going ingest all day. There will be egg hunts, egg decorating, egg tossing, face painting and other Easter-y stuff. That's 428rmb for an all-you-can-eat-buffet and soft drinks. 498rmb for all of that with beer and wine. Kids 2–12 get in for only 80rmb. More on that here. For a non-hotel option there is Paulaner on Fenyang Lu. They've got an all-you-can-eat buffet spread of German-style Easter eats with all kinds of snacks for the kids, like ice cream, popcorn and apple juice. Grown-ups get a half-liter 0.5L Paulaner beer, house wine or soft drink and unlimited soft drinks. Children under 3 get in for free. Kids 3–5 years old get in for 70rmb. 100rmb for kids 6–9 years old. 150rmb for kids aged 10–15 years old. 298rmb for adults. Learn more here. I assumed most ingredients in a salad started at a farm and ended up on a table. Anyway, they'll keep the kids busy with Easter egg-related activities. That goes from 11.30am–2.30pm. 299rmb per adult and 159rmb per child. More here. Or there is Oyster House, which is doing five-course shared menu for featuring truffled deviled eggs, creole pork meatballs, half a dozen oysters and more along with a bottle of bubbly. 588rmb for two. Four Seasons Pudonghas an ongoing display of chocolate artwork that they're calling the "Chocolate Chamber". I'm just glad they're not doing something called a fudge tunnel.
