Elevator Is Screening Akira and Selling Bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch on Wednesday

Jul 27, 2016 | 12:04 Wed
File this under, "Anime, Air Conditioning, Awesome." Xinle Lu club[house] Elevator is continuing their Cereal Killer nights this Wednesday with the absolute stone cold classic 1988 film Akira at 9pm. It's the bloody, trippy story of biker gangs, weird psychic kids, and Armageddon in Neo-Tokyo circa 2019 AD. The film condenses 2000 pages of comics into a two-hour film, so not everything makes sense, but the cell animation and soundtrack are gorgeous. You could watch this one twenty times, easily. You'd be a little weird afterwards but you could.

The cereal portion of Cereal Killer is thus: 20rmb bowls of cereal, including Honey Nut 'Os, Corn Flakes, "chocolate stuff", and the aforementioned Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The choice is obvious. You can add Bailey's for an extra 25rmb. Following the film, Mau Mau and Finascia are DJing some J-Pop house music and the ping pong tables are open to all. No cover.
