Today is the Hungry Ghost Festival and Yongkang Lu looks like a ghost town. Zero tables on the streets. But despite the yellow tape and the security guards standing in front of the shop, gourmet coffee shop / roaster Cafe del Volcan say they've got all their licenses in order and they will survive the shutdown of bars and restaurants. The DVD shop next door? Not so much. Workers were tearing the whole place apart today around noon.
Pshhh... Yongkang Lu. It's all about Xianxia Lu now.
But here's the good news: all day on Thursday, Volcan are celebrating their four year anniversary by giving 50% off all coffee, including beans. Just had a cold brew Kenya; real nice. Congrats to them for four years in the Shanghai F&B game.
