The Michelin migration from Hong Kong continues. 3Top is shuttered and gutted. And while we may have lost Shanghai's only Chinese-Japanese-Singaporean-Malaysian-Indian-Thai restaurant and wine bar, it appears we'll be gaining something of a big name in its stead: Xin Dau Ji.
This classic Cantonese restaurant started in Hong Kong in 2006, and by the time Michelin published its first Hong Kong guide in 2008, its Jordan branch was awarded a single star. This is the latest of several recent Michelin starred brands to establish a presence in Shanghai, including Tim's Kitchen and, most recently, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana, to name a couple.
The signage on the door says we can expect an opening sometime in May. Talk about quick turnover! For a listing, click here.
