CNY officially ends on Tuesday, February 19 with Spring Lantern Festival, when hoards of Shanghai'ers will push their way into Yu Gardens to gawk at the bright installations and stuff their faces with tangyuan. Then try joining a lion dance on roller skates, construct your own paper lantern at a traditional paper cutting class, or cook tangyuan from scratch. However you celebrate Tuesday night’s Lantern Festival, just know that it’s officially the end of saying ‘Xin nian kuai le’ to everyone you see.
