Calypso Restaurant Unveils New A La Carte Menu.

The two-storey glasshouse style restaurant, Calypso Restaurant in Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai unveils its new a la carte menu this spring season, all crafted by Chef de Cuisine, Davide Mastrangeli. He once again donned his creative hats and conjured up a stunning menu collection designed for most discerning palates and sourcing the finest ingredients, with the menus including highlights such as Beef Tartare, Shrimp Salad, Pennoni Seafood, Quattro Formaggi, Basque Cheesecake and more, bringing with it the essence of the Italian basin stretching all the way to the Mediterranean.

Ring in the spring, and reward your loved ones with an authentic Mediterranean feast, with a contemporary twist, in the heart of the city where symbolic spring blossoms herald the sunshine and delectable temptations await guests.

Beef Tartare

Choosing only the best ingredients, for the classic Beef Tartare, Chef Davide selected the freshest beef, revered for its tender texture, finely chopped and simply served with onions, capers and seasonings to let the authentic flavour shine through. Dressed with marinated egg yolk nestling in an indent on the top.

Pennoni Seafood

You can also find many dishes that reflect the Italian concept of sharing among families or friends from the new menu. The signature interpretation of a classic Pennoni Seafood, mixing oven-baked Giueseppe Cocco Pasta, and topped with White Wine Sauce, Mussels, Tiger Prawns and Scallops, producing a rich taste and an inviting aroma.

Mortazza Pizza

Traditional Italian pizza matched with naturally crafted recipe is at the core of this latest menu. A space of enjoying the classic Mortazza filled with classic Italian ham, spirted accents of regional ingredients, spruced from the cultural background with creative perspective.

Basque Cheesecake

For the sweet finale of the well-composed meal, Chef Davide casted one of his personal favourite dishes, Basque Cheesecake with aromatic warm Sauce and caramelised blueberry complimented by intense and vivid presentation, lending an incredible scent to the composition.
