You might remember that
La Boulangerie, that French bakery by the team behind
Cafe des Stag and
Saleya, shut down to renovate for a few months. It's finally opened with a rebrand:
Pain Chaud.
That's French for "warm bread."
As before, they've got plenty of that and a fair selection of other pastries (eclairs and the like). They've also got a decent selection of Viennoiserie (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc.) If you've ever been to La Boulangerie, the quality is about the same: pretty good. They've also added a small menu of salads, pastas, and quiches.
The big difference, though, is the space. They've expanded into the neighboring storefront, which, if memory serves me, was
Les Garcons Bouchers. That means more seating room. They've also put out a few small tables on the sidewalk, seats facing toward the street, French style, which is a nice touch—good for a quick cup of espresso and quick dose of carbohydrate injection.
