Note: This story is still developing and we're unable to verify these rumors, but…
Monday afternoon, rumors circulating the Chinese interwebs claimed that the ageing rocker's China tour had been canceled and that Damai had stopped selling tickets. Indeed, tickets are no longer available on their site. Searching for "Bon Jovi" on Weibo also yields dozens of posts from fans saying, e.g. "First Robbie Williams, then Maroon 5, now Bon Jovi (frowny emoji)…I hope Megadeth and Muse can still play".
Our other sources in the concert promotions industry have also confirmed (anonymously, of course) that the show is indeed canned. Our emails to AEG have not been returned.
Why would a show get canceled a week beforehand? A classic, Aerosmith-esque case of "didn't sell enough tickets?" Are Bon Jovi and Avicii strung out in a cheap motel somewhere, trying to make The Hit To End All Hits? Again, this is all just speculation.
More information as we get it. Of course, if the show is indeed canceled -- and, at this point that's still an if -- SmartTicket will provide a full refund, as always.
