Festival season kicks off in about six weeks. While we still don't know what's up with the rock MIDI or Strawberry Festival, here's something confirmed that looks alright.
The MIDI Electronic Festival happens May 15-17 at Lake Taihu in Jiangsu province, about 1.5 hours away from Shanghai. It's organized by those Mansion kids again. They're promising five-six stages (2-3 outdoor, three indoor), 48 hours of non-stop music, an outdoor swimming pool, small roller coasters, wall climbing, go-karting, and more.
Sounding like a proper festival...
No word on bookings yet, but expect several of the crews / DJs who play at The Mansion, and perhaps 1–2 international guests. Hopefully they exert a bit of quality control over the lineup, instead of just giving anyone who's ever considered being a DJ a chance to play at a festival.
And for after-parties, they've got some German style 19th century houses near the site, where several Shanghai crews will hold down for four hours each. Buses going to the site from Shanghai and Suzhou. Alright then. Pictures of the festival site after the jump.
