Unfortunate news for nu-metal fans. Saturday night's Chaos Mind: 8 Years of Metal show at Mao Livehouse is canceled, and so are the rest of the shows at Mao for the near future. The rock venue will remain closed until April 30, which will affect several shows such as the upcoming Swans concert.
A Mao employee forwarded us a letter the venue received from the Culture Bureau, who ordered the venue to close until April 30 due to ongoing construction and safety issues at the venue such as limited fire escape options.
There are however a few other rock shows still in the works this weekend. We just spoke with the promoters at the Avenged Sevenfold and Iceage shows, who confirmed that those gigs are still happening. More about those in this week's Music Monday.
