Just walked down to Yongkang Lu and found a strange sight - almost all the tables and chairs are gone from the streets. Apparently a few dozen chengguan rolled through in a big truck around 2pm and took all the outdoor furniture. A few bar employees told us their venues lost everything outside, and Oh My Kebab! lost all but a few stools. Dean's Bottle Shop also lost two big tables, but thankfully no 330rmb bottles of Brewdog Tokyo Stout were spilled.

Currently it's standing room only, with a few exceptions. But according to one employee on the popular drinking street, venues were warned yesterday to remove all outdoor seating. Some ignored this and lost their furniture. Allegedly this anti-chair/anti-table crackdown will only only last for a day or two then life should return to normal by the weekend. Not that Yongkang is normal, by any stretch of the word.
