Azul Gets a Stay of Execution

By Justin Fischer, | In Dining

It turns out Azul still has some life left in it, yet. According to F&B Manager David Begg, "Since informing all of Shanghai that we wouldn't be fighting the end of our lease, our landlord has offered us an extension" for six more months. After brunch service today (Jan 30), the restaurant will shut down temporarily for some "overdue maintenance" and reopen in time for Valentine's day. Begg also added that owner Eduardo Vargas has plans to open yet another Latino concept sometime this summer and that over the next six months, Azul will be "a bit of a testing ground for some of his new ideas."

Sounds like a publicity stunt to me..did anyone ever confirm with the "landlord" that this in fact was going to happen?
